DAPP Malawi at the 2019 European Development Days (EDD) Conference

It is believed that globally, 71 million young people are unemployed. This figure does not include young women or those with disabilities. Young people make up 35% of the population across Sub Saharan Africa and approximately 45% live in rural areas according to World Bank projections. It is clear that Rural youth need affordable opportunities to further their studies, however they often lack access to quality and relevant opportunities for skills training. It is with this idea in mind, that the 2019 Annual European Development Days (EDD) conference this year focused on young people under this year’s theme ‘Addressing Inequalities: Building a World Which Leaves No One Behind’
